Here are answers to frequently asked questions about ConnectID

What is ConnectID?

ConnectID is an identity management solution provided by MediaConnect. A ConnectID account can be compared with an ordinary ID cards. Your ConnectID account tells various websites who you are, so you can access content you’ve paid for - eg. articles which are reserved for subscribers - or content that applies only to you.

How do I create a ConnectID account?

All sites and services that require you to have an ConnectID account, will allow you to create this when you use the service. You only need a valid email address or a mobile number and password. It’s free to create an account in ConnectID.

Why do I get a one-time code sent to me?

When you create an account in ConnectID, we will send you a one-time code by SMS or email. You must use this one-time code when registering, and this ensures that you have entered a mobile number or an email address that is yours. If you receive a one-time code you have not requested, it is because someone else has entered incorrect information. In such cases, you can just ignore the message.

Where can I use my ConnectID account?

Use your ConnectID account to log on to various sites and services both in Norway and Sweden. You do need different login accounts for different websites.

Can I delete my ConnectID account?

If you want to delete your ConnectID account, you can send an email to dpo@mediaconnect.no. Please note that you will no longer be able to log in to access your digital content.

How do I log in?

You log in with your username (email address or mobile number) and password on the sites and services that offer login with ConnectID. You can also login with your Facebook or Google user account.

Can I use my ConnectID account to log in to both Norwegian and Swedish sites?

Yes you can. Note that ConnectID saves your mobile number with international prefix code, so you must make sure to add this if you log in to a service in another country.

What kind of information is stored?

What does ConnectID with my personal information?

ConnectID use the information you submit to provide you with a more personalized user experience by adapting services and content.

Why do I need to enable cookies in my browser?

This will make your computer or your mobile remember that you are logged in, so you do not have to enter your mobile number and password each time you read articles reserved for subscribers, comment, etc.. To achieve this, a little bit information locally must be stored locally. This is done in the form of a “cookie”.

What terms and conditions apply to ConnectID?

To get information about the terms of use applicable to ConnectID, go to the user terms.

Why do I have to accept additional terms and conditions?

To use ConnectID you must approve ConnectID’s terms and conditions. It’s also possible that you are asked to approve our partners terms and conditions. This will only need to done the first time you log in.
